Exeter Cathedral

Exeter Cathedral is only 15 minutes from Springfield Holiday Park, and is one of the most beautiful and historic cathederals in Europe.

Now over 900 years old the 'Cathedral of St. Peter' is built on the site of an old Roman army camp, and was built after the Bishop of Crediton and St Germans moved to Exeter in 1050.   The Cathedral you can see today was started in 1290 by Bishop Bronscon in 1290, and it is to him that it owes its Gothic style.

Paignton Zoo PDF Print E-mail

Its only 22 miles from Springfield Holiday Park to Paignton Zoo, but it is well worth the trip. 

Paignton Zoo also has an amazing breeding and conservation programme, and have recently photographed a new Antelope in Kenya that has never before been seen.  The zoo is hope to 250 species of exotic animals, including 70 endangered species.

On the large side, you can see Lions, Tigers, African and Asian Elephants, Gorillas, Black Rhinoceros,  Giraffe, Zebra and Buffalo.

On the small side you can see ducks, geese, rabbits, pigs, guinea pigs, parrots and peacocks.  

Its a great day out with shops and a restaurant also available, and only minutes from the beach at Torbay, Brixham and Torquay.
